This month I am spotlighting local business Supply Chain, located on historic California Ave just north of Olympia Coffee. Owned and curated by West Seattle resident Katie Meurk, Supply Chain features a thoughtfully selected array of handmade jewelry and accessories.
As Katie says, Supply Chain features a tightly edited collection of women artists and styles of handmade in the United States and Canada that represent the pinnacle of craftsmanship and originality.
Katie believes jewelry is wearable art with a story, and are committed to understanding the inspiration, production process, techniques and materials of each piece they carry. Supply Chain carries Gatewood’s own Rebekah J. Designs (previously featured in my newsletter), and I know Katie has visited Rebekah in her home studio to learn more about the process and inspiration behind her work. This screams commitment and passion, and I couldn’t love it more! Artists supporting artists - what could be better than that?
Along with Rebekah’s work, Supply Chain showcases pieces from Portland, Oregon artist Amber Arambul’s line ARA, as well as Still House by Urte Tylaite based in New York, NY.
I’m not alone in my love for this wonderful addition to the West Seattle community. I really love what C.B. wrote on Yelp: “I have gotten to know the owner a little during my visits as she has learned my wife's tastes, remembers our names, and suggests good ideas for her.” Take notes Gatewood friends, this is your go-to jewelry spot!
If you want to learn more about the artists they carry, get a glimpse into their beautiful shop, and memorize their hours, head to SupplyChainSeattle.com. Even better, stop by when you’re rolling down California Ave!
