There has been a consistent running theme since starting this spotlight column: West Seattle is the best place to own a small business. This month’s featured business is no different, and their name proves it: Flourish Beauty. Located on Fauntleroy Way, Flourish Beauty is a force to be reckoned with. Since opening in 2014, Flourish has become the local Mecca as a full service salon and spa experience. West Seattle born and raised owner and operator Tiann Stubberfield touts her business as a Beauty Collective. They are a brand who encourages and provides the opportunity for the beauty pros to own their own businesses: a collective of women on the same wavelength, supporting each other, offering outstanding beauty services. Pretty cool!
Flourish grew from nine to 22 service providers in the last three years because of this empowering business concept, and I don’t see that stopping any time soon. In fact, Tiann also runs Juniper Nail Bar on California Ave, a non-toxic nail salon boasting the same incredible service and comforting vibe of Flourish. One fantastic commonality between these two businesses? They strive to go as green beauty and organic as possible with the products they use, and offer, in the shops. If you’re wondering what to try first, Tiann suggests their underutilized non-toxic hair-removal sugaring service or an organic facial. Sign me up! Tiann has generously offered my clients 10% off your retail purchase, so bring this newsletter into the shop for a discount! I am a regular patron and can’t praise them, and Tiann, enough for such an inspiring business model. All the complements on my recent haircut aren’t too shabby either!
